Before-Care with Flex Academies
Barnard offers a warm, safe, and structured Before-Care program Monday-Friday from 7:15-8:15 AM, provided in partnership with Flex Academies. This program gives families a reliable morning option and offers students a calm start to their day.
Flexible Enrollment Options
Families may register for 3, 4, or 5 days per week, or choose single-day, as-needed enrollment.
Daily Transition
At 8:10 AM, Flex Academies staff transition students to:
Breakfast in cafeteria (Grades 1–5), or
Classrooms (ECE–Kindergarten)
Monthly Rates
3 days/week: $77.00
4 days/week: $95.00
5 days/week: $115.00

After-School Program (ASP)
Barnard is proud to offer a free after-school program through the DCPS Out of School Time (OSTP) Program. After-care runs Monday-Friday from 3:15-6:00 p.m. and is available to all enrolled students, pending space. Ms. Greer and Ms. Harrison lead our afterschool team.
Program Structure
Grades PK3 and PK4: Remain in their classrooms or an adjoining early childhood space.
Grades K-5: Meet in designated areas throughout the building and participate in a mix of enrichment activities, movement, and homework time.

Enrollment in After-School
Afterschool spots are limited and have filled quickly in recent years. Families must be enrolled in school before they can register for after-school programming. Families are encouraged to enroll early once DCPS releases registration information.
Enrollment will open for the 2026-27 school year on May 19, 2026 at 10:00 am.

Complete your students’ enrollment process for Barnard. Students must be fully enrolled at Barnard FIRST in order to register for after-school!
